bs

Did any of you other moms living in Japan have to do the bum sticker test this morning? And we get to do it tomorrow morning, too. Woo-hoo.

I don't even know what they're testing for. Sheesh...

Hi - I am a new reader. Yeah, I did that! Yucky, but I only had to do it for 2 years -- it seems that it's mostly only for 1st and 2nd graders, at least where I live. My younger son is in 3rd grade now, so I'm done!! I think it's testing for worms of some kind. But I'm so glad they have these publicly-funded health checks at school!

Sorry, I should've explained it better. The school sent home a set of two clear plastic sheets with little protective covers on them to protect the "results". Each morning before the kids get out of bed, you're supposed to press the adhesive-covered part of the sheet to their anus which takes a "sample" of whatever is currently hanging out there. It is a test for worms of some sort. We're supposed to do it two days in a row and then send them back to the school who then send the tests off to be checked. So far our kids haven't had worms so I'm not sure what the next step would be if they actually had them. Probably medicine of some sort.

It's not as bad as it sounds but it's definitely gotten easier as the girls have gotten older.

Do the bum stickers come with written or graphic instructions?

lol.

Couple of thoughts:

1. Wouldn't it be easier to just give the testers a baggy with some tp in it? Better sampe = better results. ;)

2. Speaking of testers -- whomever is testing these bum stickers has to qualify for the top ten list of sucky jobs. Definately.

I will have to do it in a couple of weeks. Lots of lovely fun, isn't it?
